Aphasia New Music Group

The Aphasia New Music Group is a collaboration between people with language difficulties acquired after brain injury, family members, professional musicians and producers, and speech and language therapists.

The project has developed our understanding of the impact of creative group work on the communication skills, social networks, quality of life and well-being of people living with aphasia. We also hope it is enjoyable and inspires others to take part in music making and performance.

Performances of music created by the ANMG took place at the Bloomsbury Studio Theatre on 6th June 2023 and at Lumen on 10th April 2024.

The Aphasia New Music Group is produced by Oedipa in partnership with Second Movement and in collaboration with the UCL Communications Clinic.

The Aphasia New Music Group is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
